In its continued commitment to promote subsidiary occupations among farmers, Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Bahowal, Hoshiarpur, under the guidance of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana, organized a vocational training programme on goat farming from February 12th to 16th, 2024—the training aimed to equip farmers with essential skills and knowledge in goat farming.
Dr Parminder Singh, Associate Professor (Animal Science) at KVK Hoshiarpur, provided comprehensive lectures and practical demonstrations on various aspects of goat farming, including breeding, rearing, and housing. Veterinary Officer Dr Karnail Singh shared valuable insights on disease prevention and highlighted the various animal husbandry schemes available for the farming community’s welfare.
During the concluding function, Dr Maninder Singh Bons, Associate Director (Training) at Krishi Vigyan Kendra Bahowal, Hoshiarpur, emphasized KVK’s role in supporting farming communities and encouraged trainees to consider subsidiary occupations for additional income.
