A programme on dairy farming, held from November 14 to November 23, 2023, concluded successfully at the Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Fatehgarh Sahib. The training witnessed enthusiastic participation from 12 farmers and aspiring-youth keen on enhancing their knowledge in this field.
Dr Vipan Kumar Rampal, Associate Director (Training) at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Fatehgarh Sahib, inaugurated the programme, acquainting the attendees with the wide array of services offered by the KVK in the agricultural domain.
The course, coordinated by Dr G P S Sethi, Assistant Professor (Animal Science), covered an extensive range of topics pertinent to dairy farming. Participants delved into breed management, optimal housing practices, techniques for ensuring clean milk production, formulation of balanced feed for dairy animals, value addition methods for milk and its products, as well as comprehensive insights into dairy animal diseases, their prevention, and the management of breeding problems and infertility.
Dr Manisha Bhatia, Assistant Professor (Home Science), conducted a practical demonstration on the detection of milk adulterants and encouraged farmers to embrace dairy farming as a lucrative venture.
