Krishi Science Center of Punjab Agricultural University, Noormahal, Jalandhar and Department of Plant Diseases organized on 25th October 2023 at Giani Farm of village Dhogadi, Agricultural Scientific Kisan Goshti related to potatoes. Inaugurating this program, Dr. Sanjiv Kumar Kataria, Deputy Director KVK welcomed all the farmers and officers and the chief guest of the occasion Dr. Satbir Singh Gosal, Vice-Chancellor PAUG. A warm welcome was given by Gurraj Singh Nijjar, President JPGA. Meanwhile, Dr. Ajmer Singh Dhat, director of research and Dr. Gurmeet Singh Buttar, Director of Extension Education and others. A warm welcome was given by S. Bhatti, Jang Bahadur Sangha. On this occasion, the scientists of different departments of PAU discussed about the ongoing researches on Alua. Continuing the series of this program, Dr. P. S Sandhu, Head, Plant Disease Department, shared information about the importance of potato seed modification and the use of new fungicides. Dr. Amarjit Singh, Principal Scientist informed the farmers about potato propagation activities in PAU. P. A. Explaining the importance of potato varieties developed by Dr. Satpal Sharma appealed to the farmers to plant these varieties as well. Dr. Scientist from Land Department. Govinder Singh gave information about proper use of fertilizers in potatoes. At the end of this program, progressive farmers and PAU experts discussed the problems faced by potatoes and their solutions. In this discussion, farmer Veer S. Pawanjot Singh, Mr. Avtar Singh and S. Simratpal Singh etc. have discussed the problems of the whole potato farmer family. A. Put before the experts of U and P. A. U experts also assured the farmers to provide solutions to those problems. At the end of the program Dr. Balbir Kaur, Assistant Professor and Dr. Sandeep Jain, Assistant Professor thanked the farmers.
