ICAR-Indian Institute of Rice Research, Hyderabad, celebrated International Women’s Day on the theme ‘Investing in skill development of women for accelerated progress’.
Dr. R.M Sundaram, Director, ICAR-IIRC, emphasised the significant contributions of women Scientists, Technical, Administrative, Support Staff, and Research Scholars in the progress of the Institute and Nation Building.
Rice-based niche (high zinc, low GI) culinary delicacies were on display and sale prepared by the upcoming women entrepreneurs of the institute. The long-term plan is to offer a platform for food preneurs to enhance their business and marketing skills.
The event was attended by all ICAR-IIRR personnel.
