9th International Yoga Day (IYD-2023) was organized at Gateway of India, Mumbai on 21.06.2023. The programme was organized by Mumbai Port Authority in collaboration with the Ministry of Textiles, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, and Patanjali Yoga Samiti, Mumbai. Sh. Piyush Goyal, Hon’ble cabinet minister of textile, GOI and Sh. Eknath Shinde, Honourable Chief Minister, Maharashtra have graced the occasion with their presence. In addition, textile commissioner, GOI along with many other notable dignitaries were also present during the event.
A total six employees of ICAR CIRCOT, Mumbai, namely Dr. Ajinath Dukare, Dr. Manoj Mahawar, Dr. Manoj Puniya, Mr. Sainath Sahane, Mr. Yogesh Kumar and Mr. Prashant Gavhale have participated in programme. Overall, more than 1000 participants from different central, state and other organizations have attended the mega event.
In this programme, participants were made aware about the different mental, health and physical benefits offered by performing different yoga activities on day-to-day basis by the chief guests of the function. Further, different yoga activities were performed to celebrate the IYD-2023. After conclusion, the programme was concluded with vote of thanks and national anthem.
