ICAR-Indian Institute of Soil Science, Bhopal organized ICAR-CIMMYT collaborative Workshop on AGROTAIN Incorporated Urea Produces with N-TEGRATIONTM Technology for Improving Nitrogen Use Efficiency in Major Cropping Systems of India during 26-27 August, 2023 at ICAR- Indian Institute of Soil Science, Bhopal. The workshop was organized to evaluate KAS’s proprietary and patented technology of AGROTAINR Incorporate Urea produced with N-TEGRATIONTM to reduce environmental loss and to improve fertilizer use efficiency in rice, wheat, maize and other crop production in India. Dr SP Datta, Director, ICAR-IISS, Bhopal welcomed all the dignitaries and participants of workshop and highlighted the importance, implications and policy issues related to nitrogenous fertilizer. The workshop was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Dr. S. K. Chaudhari, Deputy Director General, (Natural Resource Management), ICAR, New Delhi. In his inaugural address, he emphasized on the importance of improving nitrogen use efficiency for optimizing trade-offs amongst yield, profit, and environmental protection. He suggested to improve the use efficiency through combination of precision tools, product formulation and practicing good agricultural practices.
Dr JK Ladha, Adjunct Professor, University of California, Davis Campus was the guest of honor. He made a comprehensive presentation on global nitrogen scenario and management. Dr A Velmurugan, ADG (SWM), ICAR, New Delhi, Dr K.S. Reddy, Director, NIASM, Baramati, Dr RK Yadav, Director, CSSRI, Karnal, Dr SP Datta, ICAR-IISS, Bhopal and Dr MK Gathala, Senior Systems Agronomist, CIMMYT, Bangladesh graced the occasion. The workshop was attended by scientists from PJTSAU, ICAR-NIASM, Baramati, ICAR-IIWM, Bhubaneshwar, ICAR-CSSRI, Karnal, ICAR-IISS, Bhopal, CYMMYT, New Delhi,
CIMMYT, Karnal, CIMMYT, Ludhiana and CIMMIT, Bihar.
