Christened ‘Punarjeevanam’, the project, jointly implemented by ICAR-CTCRI and Kerala State Kudumbasree Mission’, supplied two lakh vine cuttings of sweet potato SP-95/4 besides Bhu Sona in Attappadi and the harvest festival was organised today at Agali, Attappadi.
Director inaugurated the harvest festival in the field followed by a formal function at Training Hall, KILA which was attended by 350 farmers.
Yields of both Bhu Sona and SP-95/4 are highly promising and the project now envisages to expand the area from 10-15 acres currently available to 100 acres by next year and to establish a processing unit with CSR fund.
