The Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Adilabad, under the initiative of ICAR-ATARI Zone X, organised a stakeholders’ interaction meeting as part of Golden Jubilee celebrations of Krishi Vigyan Kendras on 27.05.2024. The programme commenced with a warm welcome and formal registration of the farmers, who were presented with tokens of gratitude. The dais was graced by the Dr. Sreedhar Chouhan, Associate Dean of the Agricultural College Adilabad, Dr. M. Rajendar Reddy, Head i/c, Agriculture Research Station, Adilabad, Sri. Ramesh, ADA, DAO Representative, Sri. Sudhakar, DHSO, Sri. Kishan, DVAHO and representatives from the line departments of agriculture and Dr. Y. Praveen Kumar, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Adilabad. The program was inaugurated with the traditional lighting of the lamp. Dr. Y. Praveen Kumar, Programme Coordinator, KVK Adilabad briefed the audience about the evolution of KVKs in India and achievements of KVK Adilabad, particularly its contributions to the welfare of farmers in the Adilabad district. The guests addressed the audience, highlighting the role of KVK in uplifting the farming community in the country. Farmers, Rural youth, representatives of FPO and NGO’s and other stakeholders shared their experiences, expressing how KVK Adilabad has positively impacted their farming income and the overall prosperity of their village. Farmers also appraised the technologies disseminated and implemented in a cluster mode especially High Density Planting System (HDPS), raised bed cotton cultivation, horticulture crops cultivation, Integrated Pest Management (IPM) practices, promotion of diet diversity, and women empowerment to have sustainable livelihoods and enhanced income. In recognition of their efforts, KVK Adilabad honored the farmers with felicitations. The farmers also had the opportunity to visit an exhibition and view a Rangoli, both of which depicted the golden jubilee celebration of KVKs. The event concluded with a group photo of all participants, followed by lunch. This meeting as an evident for the significant contributions made by KVK Adilabad in upliftment of small and marginal farmers and the overall agricultural landscape of the district over the past twenty years.
