On 2 October 2024, the birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi and the former Prime Minister of India, Late Lal Bahadur Shastri was celebrated with great enthusiasm in the Mini Auditorium of Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour under the guidance and presence of Honorable Vice Chancellor Dr. D.R. Singh. First of all, the Honorable Vice Chancellor started the program auspiciously by garlanding the picture of the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi. Flowers were also offered by other dignitaries, scientists and students present in the program. The thoughts of the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi and Late Lal Bahadur Shastri were deeply contemplated upon and a pledge was taken to use their activities as inspiration to improve their lives. The students, girls and scientists present in the program shed light on the lives of these two great men through lectures based on them and presented their favorite bhajans like Vaishnav Jan and Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram etc. “Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Dr. D.R. Singh in his message wished the entire university family on the occasion of Gandhi and Shastri Jayanti and appealed to all to renew their commitment towards peace, justice and truth to fulfill the dream of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi.”

In his address, Dean Agriculture, Dr. Ajay Kumar Sah asked to make the struggles of the lives of these great men practical as a source of inspiration in student life. Dr. J.N. Srivastava, Director Student Welfare in his speech inspired everyone to participate enthusiastically in such important national festivals. In their speeches, Dr. S.N. Rai, Principal, Bihar Agricultural College, Sabour and Dr. M.K. Wadhwani, Principal, Agricultural Business Management College, Sabour gave the message of making the students aware of cleanliness and also appealed to bring cleanliness in their thoughts. Dr. Rajesh Kumar, University Public Relations Officer, mentioned the dedication of these two great personalities towards the country and expressed his desire to take inspiration from them as role models. In the end, all the visitors, students and scientists ended the program by singing Ram Dhun Bhajan together. On this occasion, Dr. Shambhu Prasad conducted the stage.

Earlier, on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, cleanliness programs were also organized by scientists, employees and students of Biotechnology College, Agriculture College and Forestry College in the university campus. On this occasion, a quiz competition was also organized in Bihar Forestry College and Research Institute, Sabour.

“In the cleanliness program, the hostel and nearby roads were cleaned under the leadership of Honorable Vice Chancellor, Dr. D.R. Singh. On this occasion, the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor gave information about cleanliness and hygiene to the students, scientists and employees present and advised them to make cleanliness an integral part of their lives.

The Principal of the Forestry College and the Registrar of the University, Dr. Mijanul Haque expressed his gratitude for the participation of the students, scientists and employees in the cleanliness program and quiz competition. Saket Kumar, a student of the Forestry College, got the first place in the quiz competition.
