Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Amritsar in collaboration with Department of Climate Change and Agro Meteorology, Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana organized “Farmer Awareness Camp on Animal Husbandry” on February 5, 2024. About 50 farmer heroes participated in this occasion. The main objective of this camp was to spread awareness among the farmers about maintenance of dairy animals during changing weather, food arrangements, disease prevention and importance of environment and its protection.
This program is chaired by Dr. Santnu Bal, Project Coordinator, ICAR-CRIDA, Hyderabad. At the beginning of the program Dr. Bikramjit Singh, Associate Director (Training), Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Amritsar welcomed the guests and the farmers. Dr. Bikramjit informed the farmer brothers about the activities and training courses going on in KVK and also inspired the farmer heroes to take maximum benefit from it.

During this occasion, experts from Department of Climate Change and Agricultural Meteorology, Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana Dr. Prabhjot Kaur explained the project in detail to the farmers.
On this occasion, experts from Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Amritsar imparted information on various topics including maintenance of dairy cattle during changing climate, impact of pests on crops, production of vermicompost, on fruits and vegetables. Effects include a balanced diet for women and children.
The farmers who came on this occasion were also given metal scrap (cattle) under the All India Coordinated Research Project on Agrometeorology scheme.
Finally Dr. Astha formally thanked the guests present in this event, the progressive farmers who came.
