ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra, North Goa, ICAR-Central Coastal Agricultural Research Institute, Goa, organized a field visit to showcase the innovative technologies demonstrated by KVK, North Goa, to Dr S.K. Roy, Director, ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Pune. The visit highlighted the adoption of advanced agricultural practices by progressive farmers in the region.
The tour included visits to several progressive farmers. Shri Vinod Barve, a recipient of the Millionaire Farmer Award 2024, showcased his innovative work in cashew processing and value-added products from jackfruit, banana, and arecanut leaf plates, setting a benchmark for sustainable farming. The team also visited Shri Rishikesh Barve’s dairy farm, where he successfully manages over 10 crossbred cows and uses innovative fodder technologies from KVK, North Goa, to improve productivity. Additionally, the group toured the farm of Shri Sanjay Ananth Patil, a Padma Shri awardee and advocate of natural farming, who has inspired many farmers to adopt eco-friendly, chemical-free practices.
The visits were coordinated by Dr Udharwar S.V., Shri Rahul Kumar, Shri Rahul Kulkarni, and Shri Vishwajeet Prajapati.
