Punjab Agricultural University’s Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Fatehgarh Sahib concluded a skill-oriented training programme on “Dairy Farming,” held from July 2 to July 12, 2024. The training, guided by Dr. Vipin Kumar Rampal, Associate Director (Training) at KVK Fatehgarh Sahib, saw the participation of 16 farmers and young individuals from across the district.

Dr. G.P.S. Sethi, Assistant Professor of Animal Science and Course Coordinator, provided valuable insights into various aspects of dairy farming, including livestock breeds, reproductive management, housing for animals, and the identification and treatment of common animal diseases. Participants were also educated on identifying superior breeds, estimating age through dentition, and vaccination practices.

Dr. Manisha Bhatia, Assistant Professor of Home Science, gave a brief overview of different dairy products that can be made from milk. The program also included a visit to an advanced dairy farm to provide participants with practical exposure.

At the conclusion of the training, Dr. Vipin Kumar Rampal congratulated all participants on successfully completing the course and expressed heartfelt thanks to everyone for dedicating their valuable time to making the training a success.
