Bihar Agricultural University Sabour was awarded two awards in the ongoing sustainable agriculture conference and awards program 7.08.2024 in New Delhi. The first was the “Extension & Training Excellence Award” and the second was the “Green Harvest Innovator award”. The university’s Director of Extension Education Dr. R.K. Sohane and Co-Director of Extension Education Dr. R.N. Singh received these awards in the conference organized by Agriculture Post.com and Indy Agri Sanstha at India Habitat Center in Delhi.

The “Excellence in Extension and Training Award” was given by the university for providing the best training for agricultural extension and upliftment of farmers in the state of Bihar. It is worth mentioning that the university has organized 2853 training programs through its various units last year in which 103506 male and female farmers have participated, while through Kisan Chaupal and ICT, revolutionary initiatives have been taken in the field of agricultural extension in the state. These efforts of the university have led to a significant increase in technology transfer and adoption. Green Harvest Innovator Award was given for the dense green cover in the university campus, various gardens, making various products from flower waste, using vacant spaces for farming, roof gardening, work done for soil health, Parthenium awareness, creating awareness on the contribution of bees and spiders in maintaining the ecosystem and excellent work.

On this achievement of Bihar Agricultural University, Honorable Vice Chancellor Dr. D.R. Singh said that “The university is doing better work for the upliftment of agriculture and farmers in its state, along with this we are constantly striving to increase sustainable farming and green coverage, it is a matter of happiness that our efforts have been awarded”.
