Prof. Badar Jahan from the Department of Fine Arts, Aligarh Muslim University, chaired a session at the International Conference on “Contemporary Indian Art and the Global Art Market,” organized in a hybrid mode by the Department of Fine Arts, Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra.
The session focused on key aspects of the global art business, including NFTs, generative AI trends, online marketplaces, and digital-age bidding. It also explored the impact of NFT and conventional auctions, the role of art fairs and biennales in shaping Indian art, and the sustainability, ethics, and evolving dynamics of the art market.
In her concluding remarks, Prof. Badar Jahan underscored the importance of incorporating technological advancements into the current visual arts curricula. She emphasized that academic institutions must create opportunities for art learners and emerging artists to engage with the evolving art market.
