ICAR-Central Arid Zone Research Institute, Jodhpur, organized agri- innovation day kharif 2024 today. During the programme the farmers interacted with the scientists in their experimental fields.
The integrated farming cafeteria served as a one-stop destination showcasing various components, including a wide range of kharif crop varieties, horticultural crops, year-round fodder production, water harvesting and its utilization, as well as agroforestry practices. The interaction among these components was effectively demonstrated in the integrated farming system experiment. Recently developed varieties of buffel grass (CAZRI Anjan 2178) and dewgram (CAZRI Moth-4 and 5) were particularly noteworthy. Farmers were also drawn to the extensive seed production blocks and organic farming practices. Live demonstrations of pearled pearl millet biscuits and other millet-based products were conducted.
More than 600 farmers’ and farm women from different villages of Jodhpur district participated in the program.
