The Punjab Agricultural University’s Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Hoshiarpur, concluded its vocational training programme on ‘Special Cookery’ from October 7th to 14th, 2024. Designed to equip participants with creative culinary skills, especially for the festive season, the programme focused on blending traditional and modern cooking techniques.

Inaugurating the event, Dr Maninder Singh Bons, Associate Director (Training) at KVK Hoshiarpur, emphasized the potential of culinary expertise in fostering creativity and opening avenues for women entrepreneurs in the food industry.

Led by Dr Sukhdeep Kaur, Assistant Professor (Home Science), the training featured practical demonstrations of a variety of recipes, including festive delights like palak barfi, khoya paneer laddoo, til barfi, and coconut ladoo, alongside children’s favorites such as noodles, hara-bhara kebab, and Manchurian.

The programme culminated in a friendly competition, during which participants showcased their culinary talents by preparing traditional and modern dishes, creating a dynamic and engaging environment.

Dr Bons thanked the participants for their dedication and encouraged them to apply their newly acquired skills in their homes and for potential income generation.
