A five-day training program on stubble management organized by PAU-Krishi Science Centre, Bathinda will be held from 16.09.2024 to 20.09.2024 at Village Faridkot Kotli Block Sangat. The main objective of this program is to provide technical information to the farmers regarding proper use of agricultural machinery for proper management of stubble. On this occasion Dr. Gurdeep Singh Sidhu, Deputy Director (Training), Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bathinda said that by selecting 25-25 farmers from the selected villages under stubble management, they are being trained on stubble management so that these farmers can learn about stubble management. He appealed to the farmers that the farmers can manage the straw by using the machinery provided by Veer Krishi Science Centre. He said that by arranging straw with happy seeder or surface seeder, the problem of weeds in sown wheat is reduced, water is saved and with this method the adverse effect of weather on the sown wheat is also reduced. On this occasion, Prakas Singh Sidhu shared his experience regarding stubble management and appealed to the farmers that they can make farming profitable by adopting the recommendations of the University of Agriculture.
