Agreement between Pantnagar University and St. Petersburg University of Russia Pantnagar. 21 September 2024. An MoU was signed on 20 September 2024 between Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology and St. Petersburg University of Russia for exchange of technical research and education in the field of veterinary science. A four-member delegation of scientists from the university headed by Vice Chancellor Dr. Manmohan Singh Chauhan reached St. Petersburg. The delegation includes the Vice Chancellor along with Director of International Affairs Dr. Shiva Prasad, Dean Postgraduate College Dr. K.P. Raverkar and Head of Department, Department of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Extension Education Dr. S.C. Tripathi. On behalf of St. Petersburg University, Rector Dr. Plemyashov Krisilvi, Vice Rector Dr. Nikitin, Director of International Affairs Dr. Lyutik and Consul and Head of Chancery of India in St. Petersburg, Mr. Nirmesh Kumar and senior scientists of the university participated. Welcoming the delegation of Pantnagar University, the Rector of St. Petersburg University informed about the research achievements of his university and hoped that this MoU will bring unprecedented results in the field of education and research. In his address, Vice Chancellor of Pantnagar University Dr. Chauhan informed about the progress of the university and its contribution in the field of green revolution and while discussing the achievements of the university, he highlighted the main areas of mutual cooperation, especially in various important research aspects of veterinary science such as animal cloning, ovum-pick-up technique, gene characterization, vaccine production etc. He said that through this MoU, scientists and research students of both the countries will work jointly in various fields and will make their important contribution to the progress of both the countries. Consul and Head of Chancery of India in St. Petersburg, Mr. Nirmesh Kumar signed and assured full cooperation in running the MoU successfully. It is a matter of prestige that Pantnagar University, under the leadership of Vice Chancellor Dr. Manmohan Singh Chauhan, has signed an agreement with a reputed institute of Russia, which will give progress to the university in the field of research and teaching.
