PAU-KVK, Sangrur organized a global campaign event “Ek Mitti Maa De Naam” in Village Dhandyal, District Sangrur on 29th August, 2024. On this occasion Dr. Sunil Kumar, Assistant Professor (Agricultural Engineering), Dr. Rukinder Preet Singh Dhaliwal, Assistant Professor (Crop Science), Krishi Science Centre, Sangrur was present.

On this occasion, the experts emphasized the importance of planting trees for the preservation of the environment. Dr. Sunil Kumar encouraged people to plant fruit and shade trees in their homes and fields. He said that trees not only provide habitat for birds but also reduce household expenses by providing us with clean and fresh fruits.

Dr. Rukinder Preet Singh Dhaliwal said that planting trees is the simplest yet most effective way to contribute to a sustainable future. Trees release oxygen for us so that we can stay alive. He also said that it is not necessary to plant trees, but one should adopt trees and take care of them throughout life.
