The Hon’ble Prime Minister of India launched the global campaign Ek Drek Ma Me Naam on the occasion of World Environment Day on 5th June 2024. As part of the global campaign, PAU’s Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Mansa launched a tree name campaign on 29th August 2024 in the presence of Dr. Gurdeep Singh, Deputy Director, Krishi Vigyan Kendra Mansa. Inaugurating the campaign, Dr. Gurdeep Singh said that Ek Drek Maa Ke Naam campaign is a people’s movement and people are taking part in respecting their mother and mother earth by planting trees. Plantation of trees also fulfills the objective of Mission Life launched by the government which is a mass movement of eco-conscious lifestyle. In agriculture, growing trees is an important step in achieving sustainable agriculture. Trees help increase agricultural productivity by improving soil, water quality and increasing biodiversity. All the staff of Krishi Vigyan Kendra were present on this occasion.
