A one-day exposure tour as well as a farmer-scientist seminar was organized today by the ICAR-Central Sheep and Wool Research Institute, Avikanagar for the tribal sheep rearing farmers of Basava, Bandikui and Dausa tehsils of Dausa district under the Scheduled Tribe Sub-Plan.
Dr. Arun Kumar Tomar, Director, in his address urged the sheep rearing farmers present to choose animals of good breed to double their income. The director said that at present, to get good income from animals, there is a need to pay attention to every aspect of them, only then we can increase our income. He said that sheep and goats are the animals reared with minimum resources. The present time is of integrated farming and animal husbandry in which production capacity can be increased only by focusing on all areas.
Through the TSP sub-plan, various tehsils of Dausa district, villages of Dausa, Basava and Bandikui (Rambas Ancheri, Bhavata-Bhavati, Kali Pahari, Jhajhi, Rampura, Colva, Dhanwad, Gudaliya, Bhanwara, Totiya, Thenlavus and Pichupada Kala etc.) ) to 26 tribal farmers (20 women and 6 men) of 26 camel breed Malpura sheep / Avishan sheep / GMM sheep breeder males were given for demonstration. Along with this, useful items related to farming and animal husbandry were also distributed.
Under the one-day tour, various weather based information along with breed improvement, animal nutrition, animal health along with scientific information on sheep rearing was given to the sheep rearing farmers by the scientists of Avikanagar Institute.
