ICAR-IISR successfully hosted the Swachhta Pakhwada 2023 from December 16th to 31st, marking a two-week celebration of cleanliness and awareness. The program commenced with the entire IISR community taking the Swachhta pledge on December 16th, followed by a series of daily activities such as cleanliness drives, tree planting, and awareness programs. The institute extended its commitment beyond its premises, actively participating in cleaning the premises of Govt Children’s Home for Boys, Kozhikode and much more. Similar activities were organized at IISR Experimental Farm Peruvannamuzhi, KVK Kozhikode, and IISR Regional Station Appangala. In the valedictory function, chaired by Dr. V Srinivasan, Ms. Alfiya PV presented the Swachhta Pakhwada report, highlighting the achievements and impact of the fortnight-long initiative and Dr. Anees delivered a lecture on ‘Practical Aspects of Waste Management in Daily Lives.’
