Under the aegis of Punjab Agricultural University and ICAR-ATARI, Zone-1, Ludhiana, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar organized a vocational training course on “Preparation of healthy sweets for festive season” from 3rd-9th October, 2023. During this course, 33 farmers and farmwomen took part in the training.
Mrs. Renu Bala, Demonstrator (Home Science) demonstrated different recipes of healthy sweets. The participants were imparted hands on practical training on different recipes and garnishing during presentation of ready recipes. In this training seven recipes were demonstrated like Gulab Jamun, Jalebi, Besan Laddoo, Nariyal Laddoo, Chhaina Murgi, Moong Dal Burfi and Milk Cake. Mrs. Renu Bala also delivered lectures on nutritious sweets making procedure by altering basic recipe. She also motivated the trainees to opt this training as a profession.
During the concluding session of the training, Associate Director (Training), Dr. Maninder Singh Bons, complimented the participants for their sincere efforts & hard work during the training. He also emphasized that they should incorporate the knowledge and skills obtained during the training in their ventures and assured all help for future endeavors too. Dr. Bons also threw light on the different activities of KVK for the welfare of farming community.
