“Gunvatta Yatra: Awareness program on “NABL Accreditation and ItsBenefit” at Himmatnagar Campus, KU, Rajpur (Nava)”

The College of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry, Kamdhenu University,
Rajpur (Nava), Himmatnagar, successfully organized an awareness program on “Gunvatta
Yatra: NABL Accreditation and Its Benefit” on 22nd September 2025. The event was
conducted in collaboration with the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration
Laboratories (NABL), Quality Council of India (QCI), Ahmedabad, with an objective to
enhance the awareness among academic and technical staff regarding the significance,
process, and benefits of NABL accreditation in veterinary, dairy and fisheries laboratories.
The program commenced at 10:00
hrs with an inaugural session. Dr. P.H.
Tank, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor,
Kamdhenu University, Gandhinagar acted
as a President of the function. The
function began with the lighting of the
ceremonial lamp, and the University Song,
creating an atmosphere of reverence and
academic spirit. In the Inaugural session,
welcome address was delivered by Dr.
C.T. Khasatiya, Principal (I/c), College of
Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry,
Rajpur (Nava) who emphasized the relevance of quality assurance in academic laboratories
and the role of NABL in fostering credibility. The program was graced by Dr. S.K. Bhavsar,
Director of Research and Dean P.G. Studies, Kamdhenu University, Gandhinagar, who acted
as a Chief Guest, addressed the gathering and highlighted how accreditation aligns with the
university’s research and development goals.
A significant moment in the session was the release of the booklet titled
“Recommendation and Accomplishment – 2025” by Kamdhenu University, Gandhinagar,
showcasing the university’s commitment towards quality research work for scientific and
farmer community. The Presidential Address was delivered by Dr. P.H. Tank, Hon’ble Vice
Chancellor of Kamdhenu University, Gandhinagar, who commended the organizing team for
their efforts and emphasized the importance of NABL accreditation in ensuring the reliability
of laboratory results, which is crucial in the Veterinary and Animal Husbandry sector
including Dairy and Fisheries Sciences. The Vote of Thanks was proposed by Dr. K.J.
Ankuya, Professor and Organizing Secretary, who acknowledged the support of all
dignitaries, speakers, faculty members, and participants.

The technical session, held from
11:00 to 12:30 hrs, featured a
comprehensive presentation by Dr.
Bhumi Rajyaguru, Joint Director,
NABL, QCI Ahmedabad, on the topic
“NABL Accreditation and Its Benefits.”
Dr. Rajyaguru elaborated on the
framework of accreditation, criteria for
certification, and its long-term
advantages for institutional credibility,
research quality, and industry
collaboration. An interactive Q & A session followed, allowing participants to raise queries
and engage in meaningful dialogue with the expert. The session concluded with the National
Anthem, symbolizing unity and national pride, followed by lunch.
The event was meticulously organized as per the guidance provided by Dr. N.H.
Kelawala, Principal, College of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry, Rajpur (Nava) and
Dr. J.B. Nayak, Professor, Dept. of Veterinary Public Health and Epidemiology. Dr. U.D.
Patel, Professor, and Dr. B.B. Bhanderi, Associate Professor acted as Co-organizing
Secretaries. The program witnessed active participation from over 90 registered delegates
representing different colleges and centers of Kamdhenu University. Participants gained
valuable insights into the accreditation process and its potential impact on laboratory
operations, academic research, and student training.
