World Soil Day (WSD) is held annually on 5 December as a means to focus attention on the importance of healthy soil and to advocate the sustainable management of soil resources. An international day to celebrate soil was recommended by the International Union of Soil Sciences (IUSS) in 2002. World Soil Day 2023 and its campaign “Soil and water: a source of life” aims to raise awareness of the importance of maintaining healthy ecosystems and human well-being by addressing the growing challenges in soil and water management, increasing the awareness and encouraging societies to improve soil health. On this occasion, Department of Soil Science at College of Agriculture, Padannakkad is celebrating this great event by conducting various competitions and seminar related to soil day theme of 2023. Hence all are cordially invited for the world soil day programme of College of Agriculture, Padannakkad on 05/12/2023 at 10 AM. Dr. T.
