Vigyan Kendra, Morena jointly organised a two days Training cum workshop of Plant Protection experts
from KVKs of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh at KVK, Morena during Aug 07-08, 2024
Dr. S.S. Tomar, Associate Director Research, ZARS, Morena emphasized the importance of pest and disease
management to sustain the biodiversity as well as to enhance the agricultural productivity. Dr. S.R.K.
Singh, Director of ICAR-ATARI, Jabalpur, addressed the experts about the importance of Plant
Protection in order to achieve enhanced farm income. Dr. M.K. Tripathi, Principal Scientist, ZARS, Morena
highlighted that keen attention is to be given on Integrated Pest and Disease Management to achieve
sustainability. Dr. Praveen Kumar, Plant Protection Officer, CIPMC, Morena addressed the experts and gave a
glimpse of new National Pest Surveillance System for real time monitoring and solution based app for
pest and disease management. Dr. Prashant K. Gupta, Sr. Scientist & Head, KVK-Morena addressed the
gathering and gave insightful view on pest and disease scenario in Morena district. Dr. Harish M.N.,
Scientist from ICAR-ATARI as a training coordinator gave an overall view of Training cum Workshop of
Plant Protection Experts to be held for two days. Around 39 plant protection experts from various districts
of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh have participated in the workshop. Dr. A.S. Yadav, Dr. Praveen
Kumar, Dr. B.S. Kasana, Dr. Sanjay Vaishampayan were the part of this workshop and also provided their
valuable expertise.
