Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojna late payment information

As part of the various initiatives taken by the Indian government to improve the condition of farmers in the country, the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojna, or PM-Kisan scheme, was launched in February 2019. The aim of the scheme is to provide financial assistance to farmers in order to augment their income, and address the various issues they face in terms of productivity, risk, and access to markets.

Under the scheme, farmers who cultivate up to 2 hectares of land are eligible to receive financial assistance of INR 6,000 per year, which is disbursed in three equal installments of INR 2,000 each, directly to their bank accounts. The scheme also has provisions for landless farmers who cultivate someone else’s land, sharecroppers, and tenant farmers, who can also avail the benefits of the scheme.

However, since the launch of the scheme, there have been several reports of farmers not receiving the benefits of the PM-Kisan scheme in a timely manner, leading to financial hardships and distress. In many cases, farmers have complained that the payments have been delayed due to technical glitches, incorrect bank details, or other administrative issues.

To address these concerns, the government has taken various measures to ensure timely payment to farmers under the PM-Kisan scheme. For instance, a dedicated portal has been set up for the scheme, which allows farmers to check the status of their payment, update their bank account details, and resolve any technical issues related to the scheme.

In addition, the government has also launched a mobile application for the scheme, which farmers can use to register themselves and receive updates on the status of their payments. The mobile application also allows farmers to update their Aadhaar and bank account details, and raise any grievances related to the scheme.

Apart from these measures, various state governments have also taken steps to ensure timely disbursement of payments to farmers under the PM-Kisan scheme. For instance, some states have set up dedicated call centers and help desks to provide assistance to farmers, while others have organized awareness camps and workshops to ensure that farmers are aware of their entitlements under the scheme.

In conclusion, while the PM-Kisan scheme has been an important initiative to improve the condition of farmers in the country, there have been issues related to delays in payment. However, with the various measures taken by the government and the active involvement of state governments, it is hoped that the scheme will be able to deliver on its promise to provide timely financial assistance to farmers, and contribute to overall agricultural development in the country.
