Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana details

Certainly, I’d be happy to write an article on the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana details. Here it is:

The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM-KISAN) is a scheme launched by the Government of India in February 2019 to provide financial support to over 145 million farmers across the country. The goal of the scheme is to supplement the income of farmers and to ensure their livelihood security.

Under the PM-KISAN scheme, eligible farmers will receive monetary assistance of Rs. 6,000 per year (which comes down to Rs. 500 per month) in three equal installments. The payment will be made directly to their bank accounts, to avoid middlemen and ensure transparency.

To be eligible for the scheme, farmers must fulfil certain criteria. They must be resident Indian citizens, owning cultivable land of up to 2 hectares. Farmer families that jointly own more than 2 hectares of land are not eligible. The scheme doesn’t include farmers who are already receiving benefits under other government schemes such as the National Old Age Pension Scheme, National Family Benefit Scheme, or any other similar scheme.

The first installment of the PM-KISAN scheme was initiated in February 2019. The government has disbursed about Rs. 77,534 crores up to June 2021. The payment will continue for five years, i.e., until 2022-23.

The government has also initiated a link to Aadhaar with PM-KISAN in some of the states. While Aadhar linkage is not mandatory for benefit under PM-KISAN, it is preferable to link Aadhaar number with PM-KISAN so that payments can be made directly to the beneficiary’s account.

The PM-KISAN scheme is expected to provide financial support and stability to Indian farmers, who are an essential part of the country’s economy. The scheme is also expected to reduce migration from rural to urban areas, as it will help farmers supplement their income and sustain their livelihoods.

In conclusion, the PM-KISAN scheme is an important initiative by the Indian government aimed at providing financial assistance to farmers across the country, ensuring their livelihood security, and boosting agricultural productivity. The scheme has been a big hit among Indian farmers and has received considerable praise from many quarters.
