“Pradhan mantri kisan sammaan nidhi yojana”

Yes, here is an article on “Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana”.

Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM-KISAN) is a scheme launched by the Indian government to provide financial assistance to farmers across the country. The scheme was announced in the Interim Budget 2019 by the Finance Minister Piyush Goyal and it was launched on 24th February 2019. The scheme aims to provide income support to farmers for meeting their financial needs for cultivation and other agricultural activities.

Under the scheme, the government provides an amount of Rs. 6000 per year to each eligible farmer in three equal installments of Rs. 2000. The amount is directly transferred to the bank accounts of the farmers through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) scheme. The scheme is targeted towards small and marginal farmers who own less than 2 hectares of land.

The eligibility criteria for the scheme include ownership of cultivable land, cultivation of crops, possession of a permanent account number (PAN) card and an Aadhaar card. Farmers who are receiving any other government benefits such as pension or subsidy are not eligible for the scheme.

The scheme is expected to benefit around 12 crore small and marginal farmers across the country. The government has allocated a budget of Rs. 75,000 crore for the scheme in the financial year 2019-20.

The scheme has received mixed responses from various stakeholders. While some experts have argued that the scheme is a step forward in ensuring the financial security of farmers, others have criticized it for being inadequate and not addressing the root causes of agrarian distress.

In conclusion, the PM-KISAN scheme is a welcome initiative by the government to provide financial assistance to farmers who are facing numerous challenges in the sector. However, it needs to be backed up with more comprehensive policies that address other issues such as improving agricultural productivity, reducing input costs, and ensuring fair market prices for agricultural produce.
