PM Kisan Nyay Yojana is a scheme launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to help farmers in the state of Chhattisgarh. The scheme was launched in May 2020 and aims to provide financial assistance to farmers who are not covered by the PM-KISAN scheme.
Under the PM Kisan Nyay Yojana, the government will provide an annual support of Rs. 10,000 per acre to farmers for paddy cultivation and Rs. 13,000 per acre for maize cultivation. The assistance will be provided to farmers for five years.
The scheme is expected to benefit around 19 lakh farmers in the state of Chhattisgarh. The government has allocated a budget of around Rs. 5700 crore for the scheme.
To be eligible for the scheme, farmers must be residents of Chhattisgarh and must have cultivated paddy or maize on their land in the Kharif season of 2019. The scheme is not applicable to farmers who have already received benefits under the PM-KISAN scheme.
The financial assistance under the scheme will be directly transferred to the bank accounts of the eligible farmers. The government has also set up a portal for the registration of farmers under the scheme.
The PM Kisan Nyay Yojana is a welcome initiative by the government to provide support to farmers who are not covered under the PM-KISAN scheme. The scheme is expected to provide a much-needed boost to the agricultural sector in Chhattisgarh and improve the livelihoods of farmers in the state.
