As a part of the government’s efforts to improve the agricultural sector and aid small farmers across the country, the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme was launched in 2019. The initiative provides financial assistance of ₹6,000 per year to farmers who own less than 2 hectares of land. It aims to provide income support to farmers to meet expenses related to agricultural practices and personal needs.
To ensure that the benefits of the scheme reach the intended beneficiaries, the government has set up a database of all eligible farmers. This database consists of the PM-KISAN beneficiary status information and can be accessed by farmers to know whether they are eligible for the scheme or not.
To check their PM-KISAN beneficiary status, farmers can visit the official website of the scheme, www.pmkisan.gov.in, and click on the “Beneficiary Status” link. They will be prompted to enter their Aadhaar or bank account details to verify their identity. Once the verification is complete, the website will display the farmer’s status as either “Approved” or “Pending” or “Rejected,” along with the reason for rejection (if applicable).
If a farmer’s status is “Pending,” it means the verification process is still underway, and the farmer will have to wait for approval. If the status is “Rejected,” the farmer must check the reason for rejection and rectify the issue to reapply.
The PM-KISAN beneficiary status information system is updated daily to reflect the latest status of the beneficiaries. It is a transparent and efficient method to ensure that only eligible farmers receive the benefits of the scheme.
The PM-KISAN scheme has already benefitted lakhs of farmers across the country. By providing financial assistance to small farmers, it aims to ease their financial burden and enable them to focus on agricultural practices and increase their yields. The scheme has been well received by farmers and is a significant step towards ensuring the overall development of the agricultural sector in India.
