After harvesting, the rice grains need to undergo processing to remove the husk, bran, and germ layers. Paddy processing methods range from traditional manual techniques, such as pounding with pestles and mortars, to more modern machinery like rice mills. The processed rice grains are then sorted, graded, and packaged for distribution to markets or for local consumption.
