Pradhanmantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM-KISAN) is a financial assistance scheme launched by the Government of India on February 24, 2019. The scheme aims to provide income support to farmers’ families across the country who have cultivable land and are facing financial difficulties. – The farmer families’ combined income should not exceed Rs. 1.50 lakhs per annum
Farmers who are receiving any other kind of pension or farm income support from the government are not eligible for the PM-KISAN scheme.
The list of beneficiaries under PM-KISAN is prepared by the State Governments and Union Territories administration on the basis of land records of farmers. The Government provides a dedicated portal where farmers can check their names and status under the scheme. Registered farmers can also apply for any grievances and other kinds of support on this portal.
PM-KISAN scheme was launched by the Government of India with the objective of uplifting the socioeconomic status of farmers and reducing income inequalities.
