Rashan card, also known as a food security card, is a document issued by the government to provide subsidized food and other essential commodities to the low-income families across India. There are mainly two types of Rashan Cards, Antyodaya cards, and Priority cards. Antyodaya card is issued to extremely poor families, whereas priority cards are for families that earn below the poverty line. To apply for the card, one needs to submit an application along with some basic documents such as identity proof, income certificate, and address proof.

Once the application is approved, the card is issued to the head of the family and can be used to purchase ration from fair price shops. The card can be used to purchase rice, flour, sugar, kerosene, and other essential commodities at subsidized prices.

It is essential to note that the Rashan Card scheme is only applicable to Indian citizens. Non-Indian nationals are not eligible for this scheme.
