Title: Understanding PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi Status and Yojana (PM-KSNY)

Introduction:
PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM-KSNY), launched by the Government of India, is an initiative aimed at supporting small and marginal farmers across the country. This scheme provides direct income support to farmers, helping them procure essential inputs for agricultural activities. In this article, we will delve into the details and current status of the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana.

Key Features of PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana:
1. Direct Income Support: Under this scheme, eligible farmers receive direct income support of Rs. 6,000 per year, to be provided in three equal installments of Rs. 2,000 each.

2. Target Beneficiaries: The PM-KSNY aims to benefit small and marginal farmers, who own up to 2 hectares of cultivable land. Additionally, the scheme includes vulnerable agricultural households, such as those with landless laborers, tenant farmers, and sharecroppers.

3. Mode of Transfer: The funds are directly transferred to the beneficiaries’ bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). This ensures transparency, reduces leakage, and eliminates the middlemen involved in the distribution of funds.

4. Enrollment Process: Farmers can enroll themselves and register for the scheme through the PM-Kisan portal, nearest Common Service Centers (CSCs), or authorized agriculture offices.

5. Identification: The beneficiaries are identified based on their landholding records, which are verified by state and central government authorities. In case of discrepancies, farmers must provide supporting documentation for rectification.

Status of PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana:
As of August 2021, the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana has reached millions of farmers across the nation. Under this scheme, around 11 crore farmers have received the income support, amounting to over Rs. 1.10 lakh crore.

The government has taken various steps to improve the implementation of the PM-Kisan scheme. Regular data validation exercises are conducted to ensure accurate identification of the beneficiaries. The introduction of Aadhaar-based validation further aids in streamlining the process.

Additionally, the PM-KSNY has undergone multiple expansions to include all eligible farmers. In December 2018, the scheme was initially launched for small and marginal farmers. Later, in June 2019, it was expanded to cover all farmer families, regardless of the size of their landholdings.

The scheme has played a vital role in providing financial stability to rural areas, especially during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic. The direct income support has aided farmers in meeting their agricultural expenses and improving their livelihoods.

Conclusion:
The PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana has emerged as a key government initiative, aiming to benefit small and marginal farmers across India. With its direct income support, the scheme has brought some relief to the agricultural community, boosting their confidence and economic sustainability. The constant efforts by the government in expanding the scheme and streamlining the implementation process have contributed to its success. PM-KSNY continues to be an integral aspect of agricultural support, ensuring the welfare of farmers and their families in the country.
