Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM-KISAN) is a government scheme that was launched in February 2019 by the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi. The aim of the scheme is to provide financial assistance to small and marginal farmers across the country. Under the scheme, farmers who have less than two hectares of cultivable land are eligible to receive financial assistance of Rs. 6,000 per year in three equal installments of Rs. 2,000 each.
Beneficiary status of PM-KISAN
To avail of the benefits of the PM-KISAN scheme, farmers have to register themselves on the official website of the scheme or visit the nearest Common Service Centre (CSC) or the offices of Lekhpal or Patwari. Once the registration process is complete, the farmer’s name will be added to the PM-KISAN database and he/she will be included in the list of beneficiaries.
The beneficiaries of the PM-KISAN scheme can check their beneficiary status on the official website of the scheme. To check the beneficiary status, farmers have to follow the following steps:
1. Visit the official website of PM-KISAN (https://pmkisan.gov.in/)
2. Click on the “Farmer Corner” tab on the menu bar of the home page
3. Select the “Beneficiary Status” option from the drop-down menu
4. Enter one of the following details: Aadhaar Number, Account Number or Mobile Number
5. Click on the “Get Data” button
6. The beneficiary status of the farmer will be displayed on the screen
If the beneficiary status says “Verified and approved for installment” it means that the farmer’s name is in the database of the PM-KISAN scheme and he/she will receive the financial assistance in the next installment. If the beneficiary status says “Pending for verification” it means that the farmer’s application is still under review and he/she needs to wait for further updates from the PM-KISAN authorities.
