As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to wreak havoc in India, the farmers across the country were eagerly waiting for the fifth and sixth installment under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. However, much to the dismay of the farming community, the installments have not been released yet.
The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana was launched in February 2019 by the government with the aim to provide financial assistance to the farmers across the country. As part of the scheme, farmers are eligible to receive Rs. 6,000 annually in three equal installments of Rs. 2,000 each.
The first four installments under the scheme have already been credited to the bank accounts of eligible farmers. However, the fifth and sixth installments, which were due in July and December 2020 respectively, have not been disbursed yet.
The delay in the release of the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana installments has caused a lot of concern among the farming community, especially in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Farmers are facing financial difficulties due to the lockdowns and restrictions, and the PM-Kisan scheme could have provided some relief to them.
The government has cited technical issues as the reason for the delay in the release of the installments. However, farmers are anxiously waiting for their dues to be credited. Many farmers are heavily dependent on this financial assistance and any delay in receiving the funds can have a severe impact on their livelihoods.
The delay in the release of the fifth and sixth installments under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is a cause of concern for the farming community. The government needs to expedite the process and ensure that the farmers receive their due financial assistance at the earliest.
