Soil testing:
First and foremost, farmers must conduct soil testing to determine the soil’s fertility level, pH balance, and nutrient content. Based on the soil test’s results, farmers can determine whether the soil needs more nitrogen, phosphorus, or potassium.

Nitrogen requirements:

Potassium requirements:
Potassium is important for plant growth and water regulation. A dose of around 40 kg of muriate of potash (MOP) per hectare can fulfill the crop’s potassium requirements.

Apart from the above nutrients, other micronutrients such as zinc, manganese, and iron may also be necessary in small amounts, particularly in soils found to be deficient in these elements.
