Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM-KISAN) is a scheme that was launched by the Government of India in 2019. The scheme provides financial assistance of Rs. 6,000 per year to small and marginal farmers across India. 2. Small and marginal farmers: The scheme is designed to benefit small and marginal farmers who have limited agricultural assets or land holdings. The scheme excludes larger landowners and wealthy farmers who do not require government assistance.
3. Indian citizens: To be eligible, farmers must be Indian citizens, and they must possess valid identity documents such as Aadhaar cards or PAN cards.
4. Not receiving other government benefits: Farmers who receive other government benefits, such as those provided by the National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA), are not eligible for PM-KISAN.
Once a farmer meets these eligibility criteria, they can apply for PM-KISAN by registering on the official website or visiting their local agriculture department office. After registration, the government will verify their eligibility and provide financial assistance of Rs. 6,000 per year in three installments of Rs. 2,000 each directly to their bank accounts.
