Beneficiary status of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana

As part of the government’s efforts to support the agriculture sector and provide financial assistance to farmers, the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM-KISAN) was launched in 2019. The scheme aims to provide direct income support to farmers across the country by providing them financial assistance of Rs. 6,000 annually.

The scheme has been designed in a way that it can benefit a large number of farmers, especially the small and marginal ones. It covers farmers who have up to 2 hectares of cultivable land and provides them with direct financial support. The beneficiaries of the scheme are identified and verified by the government on the basis of their land ownership records.

The beneficiaries of the PM-KISAN scheme are primarily small and marginal farmers who are often the most vulnerable and in need of financial support. The scheme aims to improve their financial conditions and help them become self-dependent. Additionally, it will help farmers invest in better farming practices, such as purchasing quality seeds, fertilizers, and other inputs, which can help improve crop production and yields.

The financial assistance provided under the scheme is directly credited to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries. The government has set up a dedicated portal for the beneficiaries of the scheme to register themselves and provide their bank account details. Once the details are verified, the financial assistance is disbursed to the beneficiaries.

The PM-KISAN scheme has been highly successful in providing financial assistance to farmers and improving their livelihoods. As of September 2021, more than 12.5 crore farmers have been registered under the scheme, and more than Rs.1.32 lakh crore have been disbursed to beneficiaries since its launch.

In conclusion, the PM-KISAN scheme has emerged as a significant measure by the government to support the agriculture sector and promote the welfare of farmers. The scheme has helped improve the financial conditions of many small and marginal farmers, which has led to a positive impact on the agricultural sector as a whole. The scheme’s focus on direct income support to farmers has been highly effective, and it is expected to benefit many more farmers in the years to come.
