Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, also known as PM-KISAN, is a government scheme that aims to provide financial assistance to farmers across India. Under this scheme, farmers who own less than 2 hectares of land receive a yearly payment of Rs. 6,000 in three equal installments of Rs. 2,000 each.

This scheme was launched in February 2019 by the central government of India and has already benefited millions of farmers across the country. The scheme is targeted towards small and marginal farmers, who constitute a majority of the farming population in India and often struggle to make ends meet due to various factors such as low yield, lack of access to credit, and unfavorable weather conditions.

To apply for the PM-KISAN scheme, farmers need to fill out an application form available at their nearest Common Service Center (CSC), online or offline, along with basic details such as Aadhaar number, bank account number, and mobile number. Once the verification of the information is complete, the first installment of the payment is directly transferred to the bank account of the beneficiary farmer.

The government has also launched a PM-KISAN mobile app, which farmers can use to register themselves for the scheme, check their payment status, and update their personal information. The app is available on both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

Despite several benefits of the PM-KISAN scheme, there have been some queries related to this scheme. For instance, some farmers have complained about the delay in payment due to technical issues or lack of proper documentation. Moreover, there have been issues related to the eligibility criteria, as some farmers who meet the criteria have not received payments yet.

In response to these queries, the government has taken several measures to address the issues and ensure timely payment of the benefits. The government has set up a dedicated PM-KISAN Cell to monitor the implementation and payment of the scheme. The cell also takes into account the appeals made by farmers who do not receive the payment due to technical or other issues.

Overall, the PM-KISAN scheme has been successful in providing the much-needed financial assistance to farmers across India. With the increasing number of beneficiaries, the government has also announced plans to expand the scheme and make it accessible to a more significant number of farmers.
