Title: Nutrient Management: Ensuring Sustainable Agriculture and Environmental Protection Introduction:

“Nal-Koop Yojana”

Nal-Koop Yojana is a government scheme aimed at providing piped water connections to all households in rural areas of India. Launched by the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation, this initiative is part of the government’s efforts to ensure access to safe drinking water for every citizen.

The main objective of the Nal-Koop Yojana is to reduce the burden of fetching water on women and girls, who often have to walk long distances to access clean water sources. By providing piped water connections, the government hopes to improve the overall health and well-being of rural communities, as well as promote gender equality and empowerment.

Under the scheme, the government provides financial assistance to states for the implementation of piped water supply projects. This includes setting up water treatment plants, laying pipelines, and installing water meters in households. The aim is to ensure that every rural household has access to at least 55 liters of water per person per day within their premises.

In addition to providing clean drinking water, the Nal-Koop Yojana also aims to promote water conservation and sustainable water management practices. This includes rainwater harvesting, groundwater recharge, and promoting water-saving techniques among households.

Overall, the Nal-Koop Yojana is a crucial step towards achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal of ensuring access to clean water and sanitation for all. By prioritizing rural communities and empowering women, this initiative has the potential to improve the quality of life for millions of Indians living in remote areas.
