On 13–14 March 2026, the ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Nagaland Centre, Medziphema, in collaboration with ICAR–Indian Institute of Oilseeds Research, Hyderabad, organized an Oilseed Kisan Mela–cum–National Seminar on ‘Sustainable Pathways for Scaling Oilseed Production in the Northeastern Region of India’.

- National Seminar Chief Guest: R. K. Mathur, Director, ICAR–Indian Institute of Oilseeds Research, Hyderabad.

During the programme, experts highlighted the crucial need to enhance oilseed production through several key strategies:
- Adoption of improved varieties.
- Implementation of scientific cultivation practices.
- Effective soil health management.
- Optimal utilization of rice fallow lands.
Participation and Farmer Support
The event witnessed the active participation of over 350 stakeholders, including farmers, scientists, and officials. On the occasion, farmers were also provided with quality seeds and essential inputs to facilitate the adoption of improved oilseed cultivation practices.
