ICAR-IIMR, Ludhiana received the Best Center Award for significant achievements in quality seed production in ICAR institutes category during the 38th AGM on AICRP on seed held on 09.05.2023 at TNAU Coimbatore. This award recognizes the signification strives made by the ICAR-IIMR, Ludhiana on maximum commercialization of institute maize hybrids, meeting out the breeder seed demand of institute bred maize hybrids which was highest in total DAC maize seed demand of the country continuously for two years (33.5 to 61.2 %) and likely to be for coming years as well, and extensive efforts made to produce hybrids seeds in participatory mode in the farmer’s fields. Dr. Bhupender Kumar, Sr. Scientist & PI of AICRP Seed Maize, ICAR-IIMR received the award from the Hon’ble DDG crop science, in presence of ADG seed, Director IISS, VC TNAU and many others dignitaries.
