As part of its efforts to support farmers in the country, the Indian government launched the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM-KISAN) in 2019. The scheme aims to provide financial assistance to farmers and their families by giving them an income support of Rs 6,000 per annum. The amount is distributed in three instalments of Rs 2,000 each in a year. Let’s take a closer look at what is PM-KISAN beneficiary status.

To avail of the benefits of the PM-KISAN scheme, farmers must first check their eligibility. The scheme is available to farmers who are:

1. Small and marginal farmers who own cultivable land of up to two hectares.
2. Farmers’ families with cultivable land up to two hectares are also eligible.
3. The scheme is applicable to all categories of farmers who are accessing institutional credit.

Farmers who meet these criteria can register for the PM-KISAN scheme online through the official government website. Once registered, they can check their beneficiary status on the same website.

The beneficiary status of PM-KISAN scheme refers to the status of the application for the scheme’s benefits. Farmers can check whether they have been approved or rejected for the scheme by entering their Aadhaar number or account number used for verification purposes.

To check their status, farmers need to follow these steps:

1. Visit the official PM-KISAN website – https://pmkisan.gov.in/
2. Click on the ‘Farmers Corner’ link.
3. Select ‘Beneficiary Status’ from the drop-down menu.
4. Enter your Aadhaar number or account number used at the time of registration.
5. Click on the ‘Get Data’ button.

If the farmer is approved, his or her name will be displayed along with the amount that has been credited in their account. If rejected, the same will be displayed along with the reason for rejection.

In conclusion, the PM-KISAN scheme has been instrumental in providing financial assistance to farmers and their families. It aims to support vulnerable farmers who don’t have access to institutional credit and formal markets. Checking beneficiary status is an easy process that can be completed in a few simple steps. With this, the government is hopeful of building a financially stable agriculture community and ensuring food security for the country.
