Plantation Crops Symposium (PLACROSYM) was started in 1972 with an objective of providing a common forum for interaction among Scientists, platform for exchanging ideas and technologies and put a collective thought for holistic development of plantation crops sector. It also offers an excellent opportunity for budding scientists to acquire scientific knowledge and modern technologies through inspiring talks by experts and participation in thought provoking discussions over plantation crops during the symposium.
The 25th Biennial Symposium on Plantation Crops will be held at ICAR-Indian Institute of Oil Palm Research, Pedavegi during 12-14 December 2023. It is a matter of honour that the momentous Silver Jubilee Symposium is being hosted by ICAR-IIOPR.The major constraints in plantation crops sector are climatic hazards, prevalence of pests, rapid deterioration of soil health, high cost of labour and other inputs. Therefore, there is an immense need to look into and find out ways for mitigating the problems and doubling farmers’ income from the existing situation. This three days symposium is based on the theme of “Building Smart and Resilient Farming and Systems Approaches for Prosperity in Plantation Crops Sector”
