ICAR-National Institute of Natural Fibre Engineering Technology organized a workshop on ‘Leveraging Natural fiber-based sustainable textiles and other value-added products’ under the Consortium Research Platform on Natural Fibers today.
The Chief Guest, Dr K. Narsaiah, Assistant Director General (Process Engineering), ICAR, lauded the work done by the whole project team under the consortium research platform on Natural Fibers. He urged formulating an All India Coordinated Research Project or All India Network Project under the natural fiber theme.
The Guest of Honor, Dr A. J. Shaikh, Ex-Director, ICAR-CIRCOT, briefed the importance of natural resources in achieving sustainability in the textile sector.
Dr D.B. Shakyawar, Director, ICAR-NINFET, highlighted the institute-developed technologies under the CRP platform. He also emphasized the importance of collaborative work in the natural fiber sector.
Dr Sanjoy Debnath, Head, the MP Division, coordinated the whole workshop programme.
A total of 70 participants attended the programme including professors, scientists, entrepreneurs, experts, and students from all over India.
