As you all know, the Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modiji has given a clarion call to improve the status of agriculture for a Viksit Bharat by 2047. Under the guidance of the Honourable Agriculture Minister Shri. Shivraj Singh Chouhanji Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan- 2025 will be launched from 29th May 2025. During this campaign, all the scientists of ICAR-IIOR will interact and discuss with the farmers to increase the productivity and income of farmers. Indian Institute of Oilseeds Research (IIOR), Hyderabad, will form team of scientists, who will visit farmers’ fields during May 29th to June 12th to create awareness about oilseed crops for the upcoming Kharif season. As a part of this program, we plan to visit approximately 450 villages and reach out to around 60,000 farmers, providing them with detailed information about oilseed cultivation. Particularly, we aim to educate farmers about castor cultivation during the Kharif season focusing on high density planting of castor increasing yields, management of pest and diseases in castor, and creating awareness about the newly released castor hybrids, ICH-5 and ICH-6. Additionally, farmers will be informed about the newly released sunflower hybrids of IIOR, namely TilhanTech-SUNH-1 and TilhanTech-SUNH-2. The details of seed availability and place of availability will be informed to farmers. The preparations are in full swing to under the campaign in a befitting manner.
