Bareilly, May 9, 2025: The ICAR-Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI) celebrated Technology Day on May 9, 2025, at Kairuwa village, which is also a goat seed village adopted by IVRI. The program was organized with the objective of disseminating IVRI’s technologies and scientific know-how to local farmers. The event aimed to raise awareness about the IVRI technologies and improved animal health practices. The event began with a welcome address by Dr. Bablu Kumar, I/C, ITMU who highlighted the importance of adopting scientific interventions to improve livestock productivity. During this event, four major activities such as Technology exhibition, Kishan Ghosti, Animal health camp and input distribution were carried out. Around 80–90 farmers from Kairuwa and neighbouring villages actively participated in the event and benefitted from expert interactions, animal healthcare services, and exposure to various technologies developed by IVRI. A special attraction of the program was the vibrant showcasing of various cuttingedge technologies developed by IVRI, which included a wide range of innovative vaccines, rapid diagnostic kits, advanced feed formulations, mineral mixtures, and user-friendly tools and equipment designed specifically to enhance livestock health, productivity, and farm profitability. The display also featured technologies aimed at improving reproductive efficiency, disease management, and overall animal welfare. Dr. M.K. Singh briefed the farmers about the IVRI technologies.
A comprehensive animal health check-up camp was organized during the event, where animals were examined and appropriate medicines were prescribed to the farmers. Dr. Hira Ram, Principal Scientist, sensitized the farmers about common parasitic infestations, explained their impact on animal health, and strategies to effectively control and treat them. During health checkup of animals, he conducted fecal examination and appropriate medicines were prescribed to the farmers. Dr. Ujjwal De, Senior Scientist, provided a valuable insight on prevention, early diagnosis, and treatment methods for several conditions affecting animal health and productivity. Dr. Brijesh Kumar addressed the farmers about infertility and artificial insemination (AI), emphasized benefits of AI for genetic improvement. He along with his students also conducted ultrasonographic examinations on animals and explained the possible reasons for infertility along with its diagnosis and management. Mineral mixtures were also distributed among farmers. Farmers showed great enthusiasm and curiosity as they interacted with the scientists and technical experts at the exhibition stalls. Many farmers shared their own experiences and challenges, while the scientists provided solutions and tailored recommendations to address their needs. Overall, this event empowered the farmers with the knowledge, confidence, and practical tools needed to improve their livestock practices, ultimately contributing to the socioeconomic development of the region. The program was coordinated by Dr. Anuj Chauhan. Mr. Veer Singh, (ACTO), Mr Suraj (Technician) and students of the Deemed University also attended this program.
