Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Booh, Tarn Taran, launched the “Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan” with a farmer awareness camp at village Dadher Sahib & Harike. The 14 days campaign aims to deliver scientific and technical agricultural knowledge directly to farmers across the district, promoting sustainable and profitable farming practices.

Dr. Prabjeet Singh, Deputy Director of KVK inaugurated the event, highlighting the goal of enhancing farm income by bridging the gap between research and field-level application. Experts from KVK, Department of Agriculture, Farm Advisory Service Centre, and IFFCO addressed key issues affecting local agriculture.

Dr. Navjot Singh Brar shared water-saving techniques for paddy, including AWD, laser land leveling, and DSR. Dr. Anil Kumar emphasized soil testing and balanced fertilization. Dr. Prabhjinder Singh focused on improved breeding and animal health practices in dairying. Dr. Sahil introduced integrated fish farming as a viable additional income source Dr. Piverjeet Kaur Dhillon delivered on the importance of value addition to agricultural and livestock produce. She explained how simple processing techniques such as making pickles, jams, dairy products, or processed meat can create additional income opportunities.

Experts from the Farm Advisory Service Centre spoke on orchard management and high-value crops, Pre-Kharif Management practices. An agricultural exhibition showcased improved tools and technologies, with literature from Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University distributed to farmers.

A large number of farmers from nearby villages attended, showing great enthusiasm for the expert guidance. Sarpanch S. Iqbal Singh of Harike & Sarpanch Surinder Singh of Dadehar Sahib praised the initiative, calling it essential for aligning traditional agriculture with modern demands.

KVK Booh reaffirmed its commitment to continuous farmer support through training, demonstrations, and technical services. The campaign is expected to make a significant impact on agricultural awareness and income across the farming community
